Added annual excellence lifetime platinum card

Distinguished Lifetime Platinum Card Member,

    As of January 1st, 2019, PhoenixMiles will be adjusting a few benefits offered to Lifetime Platinum members. If you have accrued 300.000 miles or more in 2018, you will become a Premium Lifetime Platinum member in 2019, and your tier status will be expired on December 31st of the same year after your tier has been upgraded. During the period, you will be offered 6 special services listed below:

    You obtain one upgrade voucher, which can be used to upgrade a chosen Silver or Standard card to Gold.

    You obtain two International and Domestic cabin upgrade vouchers, which can be used to upgrade a chosen ticket to First Class. *Using cabin upgrade vouchers is limited to the Platinum Card holder.

    Before December 31st 2019, when you buy a ticket, you can enjoy two opportunities to upgrade to Domestic First Class.(excluding routes to Sanya)

    If your account has mileage that will expire at the end of this month, you can apply for a mileage extension this month, which will be valid from the start of next month for 13 months.

    During the validity period of the Premium Lifetime Platinum Card, when you request a voluntary date change, you can be exempted from paying ticket change fee.

    When you request a personal award ticket or cabin upgrade etc., you are exempt from the ticket change fee.

    Every year on January 1st, PhoenixMiles all Lifetime Platinum Card members will undergo a review. The qualification threshold may vary from year to year, and we will inform you as soon as possible if there are any changes. For 2019 and 2020, you must have flown 300.000 or more miles on Air China in order to pass the review. Please pay attention to the miles in your account and to the various details regarding the usage of benefits. You can also log into the PhoenixMiles website to view your account information. On the PhoenixMiles website and the Air China app we provide a special service area for Premium Lifetime Platinum Card members, which only you can view when logged in.

    Note:

    After becoming a Premium Lifetime Platinum Card member, the services described above will only be applicable as indicated and through the appropriate channels. Other non-mentioned services, including (but not limited to) purchasing tickets, exchanging awards, check-in procedures etc., will be handled in accordance with the services provided to Lifetime Platinum card holders.

    For benefits of the ticket, depends on the status of each flight.

    Description

    During the validity of your Premium Lifetime Platinum Card, you can assign one PhoenixMiles Silver or Standard Card holder to upgrade to Gold.

    Member Requirements for using the card

    The chosen PhoenixMiles member must be a Silver or Standard Card holder, at least 12 years of age, who has not yet upgraded their card level.

    If not used within the validity period of the Premium Lifetime Platinum card, the Card upgrade voucher will expire and cannot be extended.

    VIP benefits after upgrading

    After the chosen card is upgraded, it will enjoy the benefits of the PhoenixMiles Gold Card.

    Regulations for downgrading after upgrading

    After the chosen card is upgraded to Gold Card level, maintaining or downgrading is in accordance with the usual Gold Card level regulations.

    Requesting

    The Premium Lifetime Platinum Card holder can upgrade a card through the PhoenixMiles website and the Air China app.

    At the time of upgrading, the chosen card’s number, Chinese and English name, a valid personal identification document (Passport, ID etc.,) must be provided in order to prove one’s identity. After the verification is completed, the upgrade will be effective.

    Items of note:

    Before using the upgrade voucher, both the Premium Lifetime Platinum Card Holder and the chosen member must understand the rules and regulations, in order to avoid errors.

    Once the upgrade voucher has been used it cannot be refunded, so please pay close attention to the prompts when requesting the update.

    After the upgrade voucher has been used, we will send a message to both the Platinum Card holder and upgraded card holder, to inform that the upgrade voucher has been used and to inform you that the chosen card has been upgraded. So that we may correctly inform you, please provide valid phone contacts for both accounts when requesting the upgrade.

    Description

    During the validity period of the Premium Lifetime Platinum card, you can obtain upgrade vouchers for International and Regional First Class. After you have bought a ticket in your chosen cabin you can use these vouchers to upgrade to First-Class.

    Quantity of upgrade vouchers

    After you become a Premium Lifetime Platinum Card member, you can obtain 2 upgrade vouchers for International or Regional First-Class, which can be used to upgrade on two international or regional flights. You can log into the PhoenixMiles website to see your vouchers and their usage conditions.

    Validity of upgrade vouchers

    Upgrade vouchers are valid from when you become a Premium Lifetime Platinum Card member until December 31st of the same year. Vouchers that have not been used during the validity period will expire and they cannot be extended.

    Requirements for using upgrade vouchers

    Can only be used to upgrade tickets belonging to you.

    Tickets starting with 999, flights operated by Air China with an CA airline code, without connection flights operated by an international airline in the ticket records.

    The travel date must be within the validity of your Premium Lifetime Platinum Card, and the upgrade must be requested within three days of the flights. During check-in for your flight, you cannot request an upgrade.

    If special services had been requested for the original ticket, special services must be requested again after upgrading.

    After upgrading, the ticket is set as cabin class O. Mileage will be accrued in accordance with the original cabin class. Only a few seats are available for upgrades on each flight, please request your upgrade on time.

    For benefits of the ticket, depends on the status of each flight.

    Voluntary changes or refunds after upgrading

    If you have already requested an upgrade and you wish to request a change or refund, this will be done in accordance with the original paid cabin regulations. The used voucher is voided and cannot be returned.

    Involuntary changes after upgrading

    If you have already used an upgrade voucher, and there is an involuntary change to your flight, you can do a one-time involuntary change procedure free of charge.

    If you have already used an upgrade voucher, and you need a refund due to an involuntary change to your flight, you can make the change in accordance with the involuntary change regulations. The used voucher can be returned to your account and will be valid until the expiration date of the Premium Lifetime Platinum Card.

    Flight irregularities after upgrading

    When there is an irregularity on your flight, the compensation will be handled in accordance with the regulations of the post-upgrade cabin.

    Within the validity period of the Premium Lifetime Platinum Card, each member may get two opportunities to take part in the Domestic First-Class upgrade experience promotion. This promotion and the date of the flight run until December 31, 2019.

    Ticket usage regulations:

    1.Only usable for personal upgrades.

    2.Ticket numbers starting with 999, for flights operated by Air China with a CA code and without any connections onto foreign or regional operators in the booking records.

    3.Domestic routes (excluding the Sanya route), Cabin J tickets purchased at the regular price with confirmed date and flight.

    4.The date of the flight must be within the validity period of the Premium Lifetime Platinum card, and the request must be handled within two days before the flight. You cannot perform this action during the boarding process.

    5.If at the time of booking you have requested special services, please request the special services again after upgrading.

    6.After completing the cabin upgrade procedure, mileage will be accumulated in accordance with mileage accumulation of the original cabin.

    7.On each flight only a few seats are available for the upgrade service, please request them ahead of time.

    8.The aforementioned rights and benefits related to passenger tickets must be used according to the specific situation of the flight.

    9.Ticket changes

    If the passenger has already been upgraded and requests a voluntary change, the passenger must be downgraded to the original cabin and changes done in accordance with the voluntary change regulations.

    If the passenger has already been upgraded and there are unrequested changes, an involuntary change procedure can be done in accordance with the regulations for the post-upgrade cabin and the processing fee may be waived once. If the post upgrade cabin is First Class, it must be handled in accordance with the involuntary change regulations for the paid cabin. Already used vouchers may be returned to the member’s account and are valid until December 31, 2019.

    10.Ticket refunds

    If the passenger has already been upgraded and requests a voluntary refund, the passenger must be downgraded to the original cabin and the refund done in accordance with the voluntary change regulations.

    If the passenger has already been upgraded and there are involuntary refunds, an involuntary refund procedure can be done in accordance with the regulations for the original cabin. Already used vouchers may be returned to the member’s account and are valid until December 31, 2019.

    Standard F and J class tickets, with a set time and flight, on domestic routes, excluding routes to Sanya.

    The travel date must be within the validity of your Premium Lifetime Platinum Card.

    After checking in, you will accrue miles in accordance with the actual cabin.

    If special services had been requested for the original ticket, special services must be requested again after upgrading.

    This can currently not be done through eh Air China App and similar self-service or representative channels, please bear this in mind.

Adjustment to the Rules for PhoenixMiles Elite Membership

Upgrade/ Downgrade/ Unchanged

Distinguished PhoenixMiles Elite Member,

    PhoenixMiles has adjusted the rules for Elite membership upgrade/ downgrade/ unchanged since April 1, 2018. Please note the changes.

    Level up: When you have mileage accrued, we will upgrade you according to your previous qualifying mileage, qualifying segments or Lifetime Platinum qualifying mileage. Once you reach criteria, you will be upgraded on the same day.

    Level unchanged: As validity periods vary from one Elite member to another, we will retain your membership level according to the mileage accrued in your account.

    Rating cycle

    The rating cycle for upgrade is the consecutive 12 months prior to the month for current mileage accrual.

    The rating cycle for level unchanged is the 12 consecutive months prior to one month before the expiration month of an unexpired Elite membership.

    Validity period of Elite membership

    An upgraded membership is valid from the upgrade month to the end of the 24th month thereafter.

    A retained membership is valid from the beginning of the month after the expiration month of the unexpired Elite membership to the end of the 12th month thereafter.

Extending expired mileages

Dear PhoenixMiles VIP Members,

       From June 1, 2020, a PhoenixMiles extension will be introduced for Silver Card members and above. In order to provide you with a better customer experience and allow you to use your mileage, we will provide self-service extension for your mileage beyond the current 36-month validity period:

Note: The mileage extension percentage refers to the proportion of mileage due to expire that can be extended at the end of the month. For example, a Gold Card member applies for a mileage extension at any point during the month of May. If 1,000 kilometers expire at the end of May 2020, the system will automatically add 800 kilometers within the first 5 days of June.

1. Click on My Account - Personal Center - Service Center to apply for an extension to the mileage that will expire at the end of the month.

2. The application is only valid for mileage expiring at the end of the current month. For mileage expiring at the end of the following month, please re-apply in the following month.

3. After applying for an extension of the current month, mileage will appear in your account within the first 5 business days of the following month.

4. If your membership level changes during the month in which you applied for an extension of mileage points, the extension percentage corresponding to the highest membership level you held in that month will be applied.

5. Mileage due to expire can only be extended once. You must apply in advance within the month it is due to expire.

6. To maximize the benefits of spending miles, the system will automatically deduct mileage that cannot be extended.
