Notes on Mileage Accrual

Notes on Mileage Accrual
1.Status Mileage
Status Mileage includes the number of kilometers members accrue when taking a regular flight that is operated by a Star Alliance member carrier or Shandong Airlines.

2.Status Flight Segments
Status Flight Segment is defined as the number of flight segments that members accrue when taking flights. Status Flight Segment counts towards the status of the members in the program. All flight segments where members can accrue Status Mileage fall into the category of Status Flight Segment.

3.Mileage Validity:
The mileage is valid until the end of the third year (valid for at most 36 months). Mileage should be redeemed for awards within its validity period, otherwise it would be invalidated. Example: the mileage you’ve accrued in 2007 will be valid until December 31, 2009, and it should be redeemed before that date.

4.Mileage Retro-Crediting
If mileage is not credited to your account two weeks after you travel, you can contact our member services hotline or any of Air China’s ticketing offices to have your mileage retro-credited to your account. For retro-crediting, you need to provide the photocopies of your ticket, the original boarding pass and your card number. Retro-crediting is allowed within 6 months after you travel.

If mileage is missed after you use the services of a partner, please contact that partner directly for retro-crediting.

Rules on Mileage Accrual
1.The mileage is recorded in "kilometer".

2.When buying a ticket, checking in for a flight, or using the services of a partner, always produce your member card, and keep the photocopies of the ticket, original boarding pass and receipt of the services of the partner until mileage crediting is confirmed.

3.The mileage is based on the actual distance between origin and destination (TPM) published by IATA and the class flown. Mileage will be credited to your account within 2 weeks after your travel.

4.Mileage is credited only after you actually travel. Mileage accrual is not applicable to award ticket, special and chartered flights and some designated classes.

5.The program does not accept mileage transfer from other carriers, and for one travel, mileage accrual is allowed only on one carrier.

6.If you use the services of a partner, the rules on points accrual of that partner apply. If you want to have your points converted into mileage on Air China, you need to apply to the partner, and qualifying mileage will be credited to your account within 2 months.
